Advionics and Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace Sign Letter of Intent for Ground-Based Air Defence Cooperation in Belgium
Advionics and Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace AS (‘KONGSBERG’) have signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to strengthen their collaboration within current and future ground-based air defence programs in Belgium. The agreement marks an important step in developing industrial partnerships within the European defence landscape.
KONGSBERG, a global leader in defence technologies with strong capabilities in command & control, radar, remote weapon systems, and air defence solutions, is actively exploring new strategic opportunities in the Belgian market.
Advionics, based in Oostkamp, is a leading provider of high tech electronic and avionics solutions, offering deep expertise in RF engineering, radar and antenna systems, advanced avionics development, and non rotating IFF technology.
With the signing of the LOI, both parties express their intention to explore joint development and production opportunities for air defence related systems, as well as other technologies and products within the KDA portfolio.

The LOI includes, among other elements:
- Joint exploration of long term cooperation opportunities
- Exchange of technical expertise in air defence and related fields
- Adherence to existing commitments on confidentiality, ethical business practices, and export control
- A duration of three years, with the possibility of extension
The agreement is non-binding, but forms an important framework for continued discussions and potential future contractual collaboration.
