Olen, Belgium – Intersoft Electronics Group today announced that October 2024 saw a significant milestone, passing 1,000,000 operational hours of their Surveillance Monitoring System (SMS). Systems have been deployed across Europe and Asia Pacific since 2011.
The SMS is an integrated real-time performance monitoring system analysing and reporting on key parameters of surveillance systems against manufacturer and regulatory (ICAO, Eurocontrol, FAA, etc) specifications. This is a critical aspect in performance management in consideration of separation of aircraft for safe air traffic management.
The SMS offers simplicity, flexibility, and scalability whilst ensuring cybersecurity in data handling. Automated alarms alert operators for out-of-tolerance performance parameters, whilst tailored reports allow for tracking of performance over time to allow for proactive planning of maintenance activities when degrading performance trends are identified.
Glenn Bosmans, SMS Product Manager Intersoft Electronics: “The SMS employs the power of our flagship RASS® data analysis tools in real-time. Originally designed to analyse surveillance systems such as MSSR, PSR, ADS-B, ASMGCS, System Track, and so on, we are now uplifting the SMS capability to include performance monitoring of NAVAIDs with more possible extensions in the future.”
Darren Gillam, Intersoft Electronics Services APAC: “The first SMS in the APAC region was to the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore in 2012, and that system is still operational today. Since then, systems have been deployed in Australia, Indonesia and Malaysia, with more in the planning.“
