Counter-Battery Radar

CBR-M Tactical Mobile Unit

Rapidly deployable L-band radar for high-accuracy detection and tracking in any environment.

Intersoft Electronics delivers advanced technology for Counter‑Battery Radar (CBR-M) applications, built on the NGSP® Next Generation System Platform and the NORA® Non‑Rotating Array technologies. This solution provides high‑performance detection, tracking and trajectory analysis of incoming artillery threats. Designed for operational flexibility, it can be rapidly deployed as a containerized system to strengthen border surveillance or to support mobile Counter‑Battery units in contested environments.

Strategic Applications

Border
protection

The Counter‑Battery Radar CBR-M acts as a persistent digital fence for national borders.

By focusing on a fixed 120° sector rather than rotating, the system provides continuous, real-time monitoring without the “blind spots” found in traditional radars. This ensures that any movement, from small drones to larger objects, is detected the moment it enters the monitored area.

Coastline
protection

Optimized for maritime environments, the system provides tracking of surface targets and incoming objects.

Its high sensitivity allows it to distinguish small objects from sea clutter, providing a clear and constant overview of coastal activity to secure strategic maritime zones.

Counter-Battery operations

The system is designed to identify the exact source of incoming indirect fire.

By analyzing the flight path of a projectile in real-time, the radar calculates the precise coordinates of the launch site. This information provides situational awareness and allows for an immediate and accurate response.

Key Advantages

  • Rapidly Deployable & Containerized: Modern conflicts move fast. Our CBR-M is designed as a modular, containerized system. It can be deployed and set to work in hours to strengthen a border or support mobile units in the field, offering the perfect balance between high-end performance and operational flexibility.

NGSP® & NORA® Technologies:

  • Our Next Generation System Platform provides the processing power required for complex multi-target environments, ensuring high-fidelity trajectory reconstruction.

  • The implemented NORA® Non‑Rotating Array technologies use electronically steered tracking beams. It provides continuous 90–120° sector coverage, ensuring you never lose sight of fast-moving projectiles or swarming threats.

      Technical Innovation

      Digital Beamforming (DBF) Staring Reception

The CBR-M utilizes a “staring” architecture with 16–32 simultaneous digital beams. This enables real-time coverage of a 90–120° sector without the need for mechanical scanning.

This approach ensures total robustness against drone swarms and fast-moving projectile trajectories that rotating systems might miss.

      Advanced 3D Operation

Through the use of Dual Vertical Linear Arrays and interference-pattern methods, the CBR-M achieves full 3D operation.

This provides high-resolution elevation data and precise trajectory reconstruction without the need for overly complex hardware.

      Increased Survivability

To protect the system and its operators, the architecture employs physically dislocated transmitter and receiver units.

This configuration, combined with reduced detectability, makes the system significantly harder to target or disrupt in high-density electromagnetic environments.
