Our engineers provide expert support to radar manufacturers, Air Navigation Service Providers, Ministries of Defense, and other service organizations during all key phases of radar system validation.
This includes:
Acceptance testing (FAT, SAT, and Flight Trials)
Routine verification during scheduled maintenance cycles
Time-critical diagnostics for fault finding and failure analysis
With deep technical expertise and field experience, our teams help ensure radar systems perform reliably and meet operational requirements, every time.
Validating Radar on different levels
Radar performance evaluation is structured across three distinct levels of investigation and analysis, tailored to meet specific client requirements.
LEVEL 1: Data Analysis and Monitoring
Continuous or semi-annual monitoring of key radar parameters and performance trends.
Early detection of system degradation – before failures occur – enabling proactive maintenance and maximizing system availability.
Based on established sensor baseline performance for accurate trend analysis.
Powered by RASS® analysis tools, fully compliant with EUROCONTROL and ICAO standards.
This data-driven radar monitoring enables early detection of performance issues, supports proactive maintenance, and ensures long-term system reliability.
LEVEL 2: Sensor Baseline Analysis
Periodic technical analysis of all individual subsystems.
Identification of performance degradation causes over time.
Definition of sensor coverage and operational performance capabilities.
Assessment against established standards and operational requirements.
Validation of radar sensor optimization effectiveness.
Utilizing RASS® COTS hardware and software components—EUROCONTROL and ICAO compliant.
This comprehensive approach ensures radar systems remain fully operational, compliant, and optimized for long-term performance.
LEVEL 3: Commissioning and Specialized Measurements
Comprehensive Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT) to validate radar system performance.
In-depth assessment of radar subsystems for operational readiness.
Pre-flight check analysis to confirm sensor reliability and coverage.
Utilization of specialized RASS® equipment, including the Radar Target Generator (RTG) and the Radar Environment Simulator (RES®) .
These tools and procedures ensure radar systems meet performance standards before deployment or commissioning.
The scope of the measurement campaign is defined collaboratively between the customer and Intersoft Electronics and a test schedule presented.
An Intersoft Electronics engineer visits the site to conduct a Level 1, 2, or 3 performance campaign and brings all required hardware tools on-site, including specialized RASS® equipment.
After completing the measurements and analysis, the following deliverables are provided:
Detailed report including an executive summary, technical analysis, and actionable recommendations.
Complete evaluation directory containing all collected data, pictures, and supporting documents.
This structured approach ensures targeted evaluation, reliable insights, and informed decisions for radar system performance.
